The iphone-dev.org crew has released QuickPwn for Mac OS X, there is a an official torrent for the release.

Here is the long awaited “QuickPwn” for Mac OS X. You’ll see a similarity to the user-interface of PwnageTool, this is because of the great feedback we’ve had since we moved to that interface with PwnageTool 2.x.

There is some interesting information that was just posted today. Information that a lot of people have been looking for over the last little while after purchasing the Mobile Chat iPhone Application on Apples Application Store.

The two recent posts go in depth into some of the problems with the Mobile Chat Application on the iPhone, a new version being released and how they're trying to fix the problems everyone is experiencing.

I was recently having issues with my phone not being able to use 3G, and I thought it might have been a firmware or possibly hardware issue. But after troubleshooting for some time, I found that it was in fact applications crashing or firmware bugs. Hearing more and more reports of network issues with 3G and iPhones, Wired Magazine decided to do a survey of 3G coverage across america.

Not too long after releasing and updated PwnageTool and Quickpwn, the iphone-dev.org team has released an update to QuickPwn.

We’ve had some issues with iPod touch devices and the latest version of PwnageTool for the Mac, in certain conditions incorrect permissions will be used and the keychain doesn’t save passwords. So hold on and wait for the next release, we’ll push out the updated version via Sparkle as soon as it is tested (it is being tested right now).

I haven't been keeping up with my submissions as of late so this one squeaked through. But the http://iphone-dev.org team has updated both their PwnageTool and QuickPwn Tool. There is still however no baseband unlock, just support for new jailbreaking of the new firmware.

That's right, hot off the blog presses QuickPwn has been updated by the iphone-dev.org team and now allows you to Jailbreak your iPhones 2.0.2 firmware. The new 2.0.2 firmware that was released on Monday supposedly fixes some "bugs", however the bugs aren't mentioned anywhere.

Here is the updated QuickPwn for Windows, wrapped by Poorlad’s GUI. It contains our new bundles for 2.0.2 and we’ve added support for version 2.0 devices which means you can QuickPwn and jailbreak the device if it is running 2.0, 2.0.1 or 2.0.2. Both articles comment on the 2.0.1 firmware. However if you read the original article, it speaks about the new firmware which is 2.0.2 and was released on the 18th.

The iphone-dev.org has created a new means of Jail Breaking your iPhone that doesn't require the need to create a modified .ipsw and process a full restore through iTunes. Its called QuickPwn.

News is just out of a new way to jailbreak your iPhone, and this time the tool is specifically designed to work "quickly and easily, without requiring a full restore." Quickpwn has been released as a beta, intended to complement the main PwnageTool.

It has only been a few weeks and Apple has already released an updated firmwave for the iPhone. Could this mean Apple isn't going to sit on bugfixes, are more updates going to be released in the same short time span. A couple of weeks is really short, however a couple of months to improve some iPhone features, fix bugs or release new functionality is something that should be embraced.

Running out of space to place all those Applications you've downloaded and tried out on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Instead of using the small OS Partition which is where all the applications are saved, you can use the Media partition instead and continue on the installing spree.

Afraid of bricking your iPhone, or not as savy as most to jailbreak your iphone? Well a group hackers have released an instant jailbreak online. You just need to point your iPhone's Safari to http://jailbreakme.com/ and follow the on screen instructions.

A crew of hackers (including hdm/metasploit, rezn, dinopio, drudge, kroo, pumpkin, davidc, dunham, and NerveGas) have introduced a one-touch instant jailbreak for both iPhone and iPod touch. The jailbreak opens your iPhone for full disk access and installs Installer.app so you can add pretty much any third party application you like.

As the title reads, "Rumour". However most are thinking it's a Photoshopped, since the Rogers logo isn't correct amongst other things.

The following is straight from Apple's website, it includes the 2007 fourth quarter revenue and profit information. The article also provides information on how many units were sold, specifically how many computers, ipods and iphones sold.

The iPhone team has just released a method to downgrade the baseband firmware on the v1.1.1 iPhones. Which means that if you disabled/bricked this portion previously using anySIM or iUnlock during the upgrade, then you can restore the functionality.

A great step forward for the iTouch/iPhone Dev Team and owners of the iPhone and iTouch, hopefully something will be out this weekend or next week.

iTouch/iPhone dev team decrypts ramdisks, gains access to secpacks! - In a sudden boost of inspiration, the decryption keys for all iPhone/iPod touch ramdisks were found by the iTouch/iPhone dev team. This paves the way to unlocking iPhones on 1.1.1. In the statement made, the team assures users that hope _is_ on the horizon.

It still not a process for the faint of heart, as it requires using command line-voodoo for the jailbreak and activation, but it works perfectly. Our iPhone is now completely unlocked and open for apps now under Apple's latest firmware.

I know that you can get your ipod working within Linux using gtkipod, and if you actually mount the file system on the ipod you can then write to it use gtkipod. I don't know why jailbreaking and mounting the iphone is required. Good read though.

More information about the newly launch of Apple's WebApps Library which will contain most likely either just Apple approved Apps and no 3rd party apps, or both.

Follow up on bricking, apps, and warranties as well as the $800 Million Dollar Suit brought upon Apple and AT&T.

Bricks, apps, and warranties, oh my! Apple, AT&T hit with $800 million suit - Another class action lawsuit has been filed against Apple and AT&T, which takes to task the companies' actions when it comes to locking the iPhone to a specific carrier, blocking out third-party applications, the "bricking" debacle, and the iPhone's warranty.

It looks as though its not going to be that easy to hack up the 1.1.1 Firmware on the iPhone as it was with the 1.0.2 firmware. Right now it looks like you can jailbreak the phone but not unlock it. Apple has a good product here, why hinder the use of it and the ever growing third party apps?

AT&T Hires 2,000 Extra Employees For iPhone Launch -
Never again do I want to hear people complaining that they couldn’t find a summer job. Seems AT&T is so confident that people will show up for the iPhone in droves, it has taken the liberty of hiring an extra 2,000 employees to prepare for the madness. To make sense of how big the iPhone launch is going to be, here are some hot statistics:

1,800 AT&T retail stores exist and will all be selling the iPhone

AT&T sales staff have received a total of 100,000 hours of training to sell the device, with each employee receiving about six hours of individual training

AT&T stores will close locally at 4:30 p.m. on that Friday to prepare for the launch, then reopen at 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. that night.

I’m going to be laughing all the way home if Apple and AT&T do all this training and preparation, only to find three dudes with fat wallets sitting outside a store on June 29. It’s almost here kids.
